Update to Demurrage and Detention Free Time Calculation in the U.S.A.

Dear Valued ONE Customers,

Please be advised that effective October 1st 2023, Ocean Network Express (ONE) will update the tariff free time calculations for U.S. demurrage and detention charges applied to shipments to and from the U.S.A.: 

Facility closure is reflected in U.S. free time calculation
ONE will only count the free time when the U.S. pick-up or return facility gate is open for the cargo and equipment pick-up and return. This consideration is applied for the U.S. tariff free time calculation associated with import demurrage, export demurrage, import detention and export detention charged directly by ONE in respect to the shipments to and from the U.S.A..

This change will provide a benefit by equalizing ONE’s tariff free time calculation with the June 1st 2023 update of the over days calculation for demurrage and detention. Effective October 1st 2023, the same calculation will be used for tariff free time and over days.  

The above scheduled updates are subject to amendment due to continuing industry changes and regulatory developments.ONE will continue to keep our customers updated on any further amendments.
