Customer Advisory - Container Maintenance Charge (CMC)
 

 

Dear Valued Customer,

Effective July 1, 2022, ONE will be instituting a Container Maintenance Charge (CMC) of USD $10 per container on bills of lading to be collected at destination. This fee will cover the cost for structural container damage up to USD $500 per container (some exceptions below). Above this threshold, damage will remain subject to current billing procedures. The surcharge will apply only to containers having in-gated on or after the effective date, that are owned or leased by the carrier, and are moving under the Trans-Pacific Eastbound trade.

 

Container Maintenance Charge  (Asia to U.S. and Canada only)

Rate 

Applicable Containers 

USD $10 per container. 

 (to be collected at Destination) 

All Dry & Reefer containers* in Transpacific Eastbound Trade on or after July 1, 2022.  (gate-in at Origin basis) 

            (*) except Shipper Owned Containers (SOC)

 

Repair Invoices in U.S & Canada for Damaged Containers   

After CMC implementation

Structural damages of USD $500 per container or less.

This repair cost will not be billed.

Structural damages above USD $500 per container.

Subject to charge through the current billing procedures.  (no change) 

 

Exceptions

If the damage is deemed to be intentional or repetitive in nature, ONE reserves the right to bill in addition to the Container Maintenance Charge. Remedies for the following will be separate charges:

  • Placarding/placarding removal
  • Dunnage, trash
  • Chemicals requiring specialized cleaning
  • Genset damage, reefer mechanical damage
