Notice of Carbon Tax Surcharge (BCT) Update


Dear Valued Customers,

Please be advised of the revised Carbon Tax Surcharge (BCT). The new rate levels will be applicable for all import and export shipments moving via Canadian ports. This applies to all services and will be valid until further notice.
 

Region

Revised Amounts

For intra-Canada shipments 

USD 65 per container 

For CA/US cross border shipments via Canadian ports

USD 50 per container


Effective Date:

May 1, 2024: Non-FMC regulated trades

May 1, 2024: FMC regulated trades*, Canada
(*United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, Hawaii)
