ILWU Canada Labor Update #5
Dear Valued Customers,
Please be advised that the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Canada resumed the strike affecting terminals in Vancouver and Prince Rupert on July 18th at 16:30 PT.
With this, the terminals closed and ongoing cargo operations and rail operations were suspended.
Subsequently, there was a judicial ruling against this job action, and therefore the ILWU Labor will restart work on July 19th at 16:30 PT.
However, as a consequence and in compliance with that ruling, the ILWU has re-issued a 72 hours strike notice to resume their labor action on July 22nd 09:00 PT.
THE Alliance vessels at Vancouver and Prince Rupert ports are
- PN4 MOL Courage 0053W at Centerm
- PN2 ONE Magdalena 0006E at Deltaport
- PN3 ONE Helsinki 0052E at Deltaport
- PN4 ONE Charisma 0222E at Prince Rupert
We are working in collaboration with the terminals to enable departure of these vessels prior to the restart of the job action.
Lastly, ONE will stop our detention clocks during the period when containers cannot be moved due to the closure of terminal gates.
We appreciate your understanding of this change. ONE will issue further advisories as this situation progresses. We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing ONE!
Sincerely,
Ocean Network Express (North America) Inc.
