Dear Valued Customers,
Container operations at all British Columbia marine terminals remain stopped, due to the ILWU Canada strike, since July 1, 2023. Off-dock CY continue to operate, however they are limited to regular capacity. Canadian railroads have ceased export container receiving until resumption of marine container operations.
ONE will establish and execute all possible countermeasures to protect your supply chain.
US/Canada export shipment
- Canada Inland dry export cargo/bookings from Montreal and Toronto via Vancouver and Prince Rupert have been switched to via Halifax at no additional cost where possible. ONE will continue to do this in all practical cases.
- US inland dry export cargo/bookings via Vancouver and Prince Rupert have been changed to other loading ports in the USA.
- For Refrigerated cargo, please contact ONE for solutions and alternatives.
USA/Canada import shipment
- Onboard cargoes
- ONE will change our vessel rotation and discharge our USA local/inland onboard import cargoes at USA ports first.
- ONE will discharge our Canada local/inland onboard import cargoes at Vancouver and Prince Rupert as soon as their labor resumes.
- Change of the discharging port from Canada to USA for cargo already on the vessel and manifested is not allowed in the current situation.
- Pre-carriage cargoes (Bookings)
- For cargo not yet received at origin, ONE suggests booking all USA inland destined cargo via USA gateways
- ONE suggests booking Canada inland destined cargo via Halifax where possible. ONE cannot offer Canada inland destined cargo via USA gateway.
ONE has adjusted our Demurrage and Detention clocks as follows:
1 - The clock is stopped for all Vancouver and Prince Rupert local containers. This includes empty return containers.
2 - The clock is stopped for all Canadian origin IPI containers moving via Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
3 - For all imports and empty returns to Canadian inland rail ramps, please contact ONE for return information.
4 - For import cargo arriving at Canadian rail ramps, please pickup as usual.
Status of Vessels at PNW as of 7/12 (subject to change without notice):
Prince Rupert: PRR (PN4 Fairview terminal)
Tacoma: TIW (PN1, PN4 WUT / PN2, PN3 Husky)
Vancouver: VAN (PN1, PN2, PN3 DELTA / PN4 Centerm)
