ILWU Canada Labor Update
Dear Valued Customers,
Please be advised that the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada (ILWU) issued a 72-hour strike notice to the BCMEA (British Columbia Maritime Employers Association) with regards to the ongoing longshore labor negotiations in British Columbia.
With this notice, ILWU Canada can legally strike on July 1, 2023, at 08:00 Pacific Time.
This applies to Port Terminals in Vancouver and Prince Rupert only. The parties are scheduled to continue bargaining with the assistance of the Canadian Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS).
