Hazardous Cargo Surcharge Updates

In a proactive effort to standardize charges and ensure vessel safety, Ocean Network Express (North America) Inc. will update hazardous cargo surcharges and the penalty for hazardous cargo misdeclaration, effective October 1, 2021. The updated Rail Hazmat Surcharge (RHA) will ensure one rate applies for each outbound container of hazardous material travelling on rail or rail/truck, regardless of size, across all trades. The updated Hazardous Additional Charge (HAZ) will ensure one rate applies for all outbound containers of hazardous material, regardless of transportation mode, service mode, size, or trade.
