Equipment Return Motor Carrier Announcement

Dear Motor Carrier,

**This distribution based on your UIIA primary and secondary contacts. Please distribute this to others at your company so they are familiar with the change that is currently under way. Please have your staff send us any questions you may have about the Depot yard transition or problems encountered with a depot or customer expecting a container or service. We really would like to minimize service impacts to service levels and really appreciate your support in this regard.

1. Who is ONE - ONE is Ocean Network Express. We are the consolidation of “K” Line, MOL, and NYK’s (3J) container division.

2. Already Going Live - ONE has already begun operations this month. People at your company may be already facing ONE operational activities.

3. Overlap With 3J – 3J are still winding down their businesses while ONE is ramping up. All 4 companies are moving exports at the same time but there is some overlap for ONE to use 3J containers.

4. ONE Service Provider Portal - ONE has advanced tools available on the Service Provider Portal.

a. See attached overview for the SPP

b. Register on the site 2

c. Street turn and Rail billing to ONE bookings should be submitted through the SPP

5. Empty Container Release – ONE is releasing containers from 3J inventories until the 3J container stock transitions over to ONE.

a. Ends This Month – This transition will conclude by the end of this month as 3J exports will stop and ONE will handle all the exports.

b. Release to ONE – Depot partners will be sent booking release requests for ONE bookings.

6. Empty Container Returns – ONE is posting return instructions on ReturnLocation.com. Our site/link will be live on Monday March 19th.

a. Next WeekThe week of March 19th, we are asking truckers to return units to the ONE depots for “inland locations” (see below). 3J Depot not hired by ONE will still accept the empty in. On April 2nd we will ask truckers to return to ONE depots for coastal locations (see below). [i.e. soft stop]

b. After Next WeekStarting the week of March 26th, empties should only be returned to ONE depots for “inland locations” (see below). 3J depot not hired by ONE have been instructed to not accept empties without separate direction from ONE on this. On April 9 th empties should only be returned to ONE depots for coastal locations (see below). [i.e. hard stop]

7. Trucking Procurement Questions - If you would like to provide trucking services to ONE and are not already on boarded please direct your questions to [email protected]

We recognize that this is an unusual transition due to the nature of the 3 company consolidation and new company startup. We really need and appreciate your understanding, cooperation and collaboration to make this go smoothly. If you have any questions about the transition please direct them to the regional ONE equipment contacts in the below.

Thank you very much for working with us to identify and resolve issues which may surface over the next few weeks.
